Default Fountain 31 Sportfish

I am thinking of selling my Stinger 390 and purchasing an older '90-'95 Fountain 31TE sportfish. I would like something that is more "multi-mission" capable, and more easily trailerable. I like fishing, diving etc as well as going fast so I'm thinking the 31 is a great match for me.

I have looked at a few and they seem like a great boat. Well thought out and put together. The few that I have seen have been twin 250 EFI outboards (late '90s power) prices in the low $30's which seems about right. Anything I should be looking at specifically with these, or any comments anyone can offer good and bad would be appreciated. Anyone know what generally they actually sell for?

Thanks,
Todd

A guy I've spoke to a couple times is selling on that has HP500's in it.....or will put the original 454 mags back in it depending on the buyer/price. Seemed like a straight up guy if your interested I think he listed the boat in the classifieds. (boat is in VA)

I looked at one yesterday that is pretty nice, a 1990 with '97 Merc 250 EFI's with 180 hours since new. (documented by computer scan) For a while I know Merc was hit or miss with their outboards, and all my outboard boats in the past years have been Yamaha's, so I'm not super familliar with Merc outboards from the mid-late '90s. Any problems with them that anyone knows of?

Nice sounding, but I'm looking at the mid-to low $30's boats.

Anyone know anything about the older Merc outboards? I'm looking at a few boats, 1 with '97 250 EFI's, and the other with 2001 Optimax 200's. I have been a Yamaha outboard guy, and don't know much about the Mercs, especially from the late '90s. Any knowledge or opinions concerning the older Merc outboards?

Thanks
