The boat planed much more easily with the Vortech with any of the props. I also tried a 32 Bravo which was a little big but still went 80 at about 4800. I think a labbed 32 prop would have been about right for top end.
The Vortech runs like stock at all speeds, just more of it. No excess black soot and mpg seemed aobut the same if you don't get on it all the time. Maybe the idle had a slight pulse to it.
Get a fuel pressure gage. The only problem I had was that the fuel filter actually unscrewed and a fuel hose cracked, both showed on the gage imediately. The guy who bought it from me had the original belt go after about 100 hours.
