Tow vehicle
I am looking at a 2005 42' Ex. with an Eagle trailer and was wondering what you guys are towing them with? I need to upgrade my truck and want to make sure it will handle it. Thanks.

Love my diesel
Whatever make you decide to get, I wouldln't consider anything but a diesel. I have trucks with the Powerstroke and trucks with the Duramax and both will tow a boat that size without much struggle if any. I personally like the Duramax for it's better mileage and it's much quieter. I recently repossessed a 42' Fountain for a local credit union and the powerstroke handled the weight flawlessly. The real advantage of dual rear wheels is when you have a blow out. The other wheel will get you to a safe place to change a tire but are very inconvenient to manuever. Single rear wheel blow outs with a trailer put you were you land but are much easier to get around in.

I have an 06 42 executioner, I use an '06 2500HD GMC Sierra with a Duramax, absolutely a great truck, pulls the boat with ease...i've had bad luck with duramax in the past, also have had powerstokes and cummins, but the new duramaxs are great, can't say a bad thing about it to be honest...highly recommend them as tow vehicles and they're extremely comfortable, even as a daily driver
