Blown exhaust hose
While running this weekend and not at WOT. I throttled down
to enter the inlet and heard what sounded like open exhaust
under the engine hatch. I opened the hatch and it sounded like
I should just head on over to Midas Muffler. Bearing in mind I have an 06 35L, 150hrs with 496's with mufflers, no corsa. What had happened was the 4 inch hose (port eng rht side manifold) that runs from the stainless Y to the muffler inlet had blown off. Pissing raw water and exhaust all over the rear of the engine compartment. The hose only has about 1.5 inches to secure to the muff using 2 worm gear clamps. I refit the hose back onto the muff, secured the clamps. Also secured all the clamps on the remaining 3 muffs as well as all the other clamps on the exhasut. I could get about 3-4 turns on all the clamps. I found no exhaust restriction through the muffler. After cleaning and rinsing the engines and the compartment I took the boat back out to check for possible loose or broken engine mount. All appears fine, I think the clamps must have loosend up over time or
maybe they where never tightend properly when installed.
we will see what happens
