Certain nuances here and there!

Good talking to you yesterday, keep in touch!

Plus with the constant boost required to maintain horsepower and torque throughout the range, the engine life is terrible. The equivalent of getting about 1500 miles on a car. That means your friends girlfriend driving to California with the AC on would have to bring her toolbox and stop half way to do a complete rebuild (or at least a top end refresh).

I really dont think you quite understang the horsepower and torque spectrum i am referring to .Please see the latese issue of Car and Driver .On a built engine using relatively small turbos Jason (Heffner )made 1100 hp 1200 lbs torque.BUT the whole key to the article was SURVIVEABILITY AND STREETABILITY on pump gas.We are talking only 10 lbs of boost(nothing ) and a torque curve thats as flat as Nebraska.Once again i heard the exact same thing about specialized applications when i did the Viper as from some blueprinting differences (tolerences )an engine is an engine

I was only kidding. I hope I didn't burn my chances to get a ride in that thing when you get it done!

Streetability to me means nothing in a boat. Turbo's don't produce boost unless they're spooled up (rpms) or under load so normal driving down the turnpike @ 80 mph and 2500 rpms the engine will not be working hard at all... A boat always has load and will always be working... 10 lbs boost in a car in a 1/4 mile is nothing, you;re right....I've seen 22lbs at the track! In a big block on the water you're on the verge of requiring race fuel instead of 93 octane.....and that's not something you're going to find at Navesink Marina. We had a boat at the marina that had 1000 hp Sterlings. The owner ran 93 Octane but did not run WOT with 93.

I'd compare a Viper engines that run the 24 hr Le Mans more closely resembling a boat engine than a 1200 hp street car..

The following dyno runs we made at Ida Automotive last month once again only 488 cu =pump gas(Shell ) .I am told ILMOR is using STOCK Viper engines to power some boats because of the strong torque curve .A stock Viper is a toy .This was achieved using only 10 lbs boost .Air Fuel was a rich 10-10.5 Imagine the torque if we leaned out slightly to 11-11.5

I did some checking and ILLMORE uses a stock Viper engine because they consider the power curve IDEAL for a marine application. In Nicks twin turbo application he runs an almost Stock cam profile.
