apppedigree,

What kind of power are you making in your 27 to achieve 90mph?

Close to 800hp for me. Standard drive. I have often thought of going with a 2" shorty and a 5 blade but never wanted to piss money away experimenting.

It gets hairy that fast but you can wiggle the wheel through the chine walk.

As I am sure everyone knows it is for sale if anyone is interested. Im a mile from Lake Norman if anyone is interested. I really dont want to go through a summer with 2 boats.

Guys - thanks for all the feedback. I think a 29 would be the way I would go as I am looking for the lager cockpit.

Can you tell me if you had to modify the underside of your hatch to fit the blower? I am in the middle of a small project ...lol, and I am starting to wonder about some clearance things. How about the back seat? I would love it if you could post some pics of those two things in particular. One more stupid question, what is the height from the base of your manifold where it meets the block to the top of you air cleaner?

Thanks in advance

Had to cut the hatch and put a scoop in. Looks great.

Also had to cut a hole in the bulkhead and mold a piece of plastic in the back seat. That is so that the pulley would fit and if a heffer sat in the back seat the pulley would not come through. Ill post some pics.

29 also has a deeper cockpit than the 27 plus the 29 stringer are much thicker than the 27.

A 27 with a 496HO will go 68 or so mph.
A 2002 and later with the 525efi will hit around 78-80mph.

Just for facts...a 29 is around 2-3mph faster than a 27 with equal power.
