Once you get one, you are going to want a longer, faster one. Mark my words. I've had 3.

I agree with Ragged edges previous post.I went from a 260 Sea ray to my 27 Fountain sure it was fun having 7 plus people in the cockpit alone but I love my 27 with just five seats in the cockpit even tho then it seems somewhat crowded then but I took a ride on my buddies 29 with a souped up 575sci last weekend and checked out the differences (being) a little more cockpit room between the front and rear seats but I couldnt tell between the cabins?looks like they added more couch in the mid ship and less v berth? could be wrong? and you loose the left couch with the sink ect im sticking with a single engine 27/29 for awhile till I learn the ends and outs before I get a twin.

Pretty much comes down to prefrence Im 26 and single with no kids and most my freinds have the same size or smaller so I feel comfotable even when Im going 65 to 70ish while some other old dude twice my age has a 38 or 42 hauling 90 plus past me. my .02

I'd say at 26 having an '04 27 Fountain, you're doing just fine!

Go easy on us old dudes twice your age, plus some, some day that will be you.

Maybe it's my age but when me and the wife go out the most I want with us is maybe 2 more people.

I just don't like a bunch of people crawling all over my boat and me trying to keep everything clean.

This is something to keep in mind, if you are entertaining non-boating friends, a lot of times they don’t understand how much work it is to keep the boat clean and scratch free.

Ah! One of those little benefits of age.

I started with a 29 fever with stock twin 502's and trailer it everywhere. If I had it to do over again, i'd start with the exact same setup. I run Priest, Old Hickory,KY Lake, Barkley, Pickwick, Wilson, and Wheeler....Basically the same as your intended waters. Think about some of the small ramps around and parking the trailer, anything over a 32 might be a push as far as trailering around and convenience.

Just my opinion tho....
