Did the factory build that with the ITS. U would think that they would have set the X right.

Roger's boat has twin 575's. His numbers will be a little different than yours.

Fountian has been all over the place with drive heights on the production baost that they raced in ABPA and SBI ect. This was due to the manufacture class homologation.

I had a 2000 29 Fever HP500...72-74mph boat....nothing by today's standards but it was a great boat. Fountain rasied the production boats drive height by a lot somewhere back around 2001-02. I know because I was working with APBA then and was sent out to measure product drive heights and I found them on the 2001 boats to be higher on the 29 and 35 then they use to be.The 29 was already hard at times to get on plane and with the higher drive height it was worse.

The lighter weight race boats benefited with this high drive height but the heavier pleasrue version suffered with normal everday boating...thus the use of drive spacers by a lot of boaters.

Our 2000 29 with 500EFI had X dimension of 17.5" and came with a 24P Hydro Q-IV prop. It was a little sluggish to get on plane, but it didn't blow out the prop trying to get on plane. It would sometimes blow out in corners, though, and I don't drive agressively and no high speed turns. Our 2002 29 (full frame windshield style) with 575 SCI had X dimension of 19.5" and came with a 30P Bravo One prop. That prop bit well and never blew out, even in turns. I tried a couple of Hydro Q-IV props on the 575 boat but could never get up on plane - it would just blow out the prop. Our 2006 29 with 525 EFI has X dimension of 19" and came with a 28P Bravo One prop. Not even going to bother trying a Hydro Q-IV, it runs great with the prop that is on it. I think switching to Bravo One props allowed Fountain to raise the X a little, due to the different prop design.

It had a LWP XR drive. No SSM, no ITS, just a really tall X dimension. It always seemed to have a lot more prop slip than what I thought it should, too, but it literally jumped on plane like our 35 twin step did - almost no bow rise.
