5 lbs. The motor was an HP465. (502ci) Stock bore.
All I did to it was install a Crane 741 roller cam. Stock pistons. It wasn't a built blower motor, just was a bolt on blower.

US1: I was just talking to Charles (he lives in Hamilton) and told him you bought a cruiser were thinking about selling your Fountain. Charles still has his 27, which, i think, was set up much like yours. He has a full roller 509 (started life as a Troy Dennis engine, when the boat was new) with a 731 Crane cam and a 250 B&M with twin 750's on top. He had his boat in the water only 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years! He said he is thinking about selling his, too. He has owned the boat for 11 years ... and I still remember the day he brought it home. We were on the Ohio River back in October and it ran 81 mph on gps.

Hey Bob, tell Charles hi next time you see him. Been a several yrs since I last ran into him at Cumberland. My 32 might see water once this yr,...... if I'm lucky. Way too easy to jump in the car and drive to the lake vs trailering. Got spoiled doing that the last 6 yrs or so. I should try to sell it, but not sure I'm ready for the bath I'd take on it. Easier to just let it sit and not have to deal with that thought.

I picked up a 27 last year. Shopped the entire country to find the right deal. There is quite a difference in price between the 27's and 29's out there. It also seems like more than half of the 29's are set up with a 525 or 575 .....not to state the obvious, but really widens the gap over a 27 with 502 or 496.
All of my non-Fountain boating friends talked chit about the 27 but I am very pleased with the boat. Good luck with the purchase of your new to you Fountain!

Not trying to start an argument, just sharing info from my recent buying experience:

Yeah, I'm with you on this. A 29 would be great but it's deffinately a little bit of a different ball game price wise. I'm deffinately thinking the Fountain 27 is the way to go for a boat of this size. Nice looking, simply built with quality components, and practical for my boating needs and budget.
