US1: I was just talking to Charles (he lives in Hamilton) and told him you bought a cruiser were thinking about selling your Fountain. Charles still has his 27, which, i think, was set up much like yours. He has a full roller 509 (started life as a Troy Dennis engine, when the boat was new) with a 731 Crane cam and a 250 B&M with twin 750's on top. He had his boat in the water only 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years! He said he is thinking about selling his, too. He has owned the boat for 11 years ... and I still remember the day he brought it home. We were on the Ohio River back in October and it ran 81 mph on gps.

check powerboatlistings, boattrader, iboats, ebay. you might have to scour the country, some boat might be the same year and hours and condition and some guy will want 10 grand more than another. I

I have a 27 foot fountain with a 500 hp carb running a 24 hydromotive 4 blade. I have heard several different stories about the top speed mine is running 73 at 5100rpm on gps am I missing something here everyone else claims to be closer to 80? I also noticed several people have the 415hp motor running a 26 pitch prop how can this be is my motor getting worn out it has 527 hours on it and runs great. It currently is using some oil I am told this is normal but I am not buying into that maybe how much is normal.
