i have a new to me 1999 38 small twin step lightning boat came with 26 hydros which are all over rev limiter and not topping out where i believe it should be. i've gotten several suggestions from 28 or 29 hydros to 28 to 30 bravos? i would assume since boat came with hydros that they'd work better than bravos but have heard different from many. also kinda confused if i go with hydros do i need ones with the diffuser ring or ones without? thanks for your help in advance.

i ran 27 hydros on mine with 500s . had the lead edge sharpened and they turned 5200 full of fuel.seen 77-78 anytime and best was 79. tryed bravo once and the boat felt lighter, plan on trying them again.hope this helps.

I had a small step 2001 with 500 EFI's it came new with 28 bravos run 80 mph GPS. Never had to use tabs always jump on plane. I think that is the best prop for that boat.
