Default 29 Fountain Prop ?

I have an 04 29 w/factory sealed 525. the boat had full time mufflers on it when i purchased it. Since then I have removed the mufflers and added sport tips. The boat has 26p bravo one and is on the rev limiter in all weather conditions. Gonna try a 28p. what props are other 29 fountains w/ same power running, and whats the top speed. Im anywhere from 71 to 76 gps with the 26.

I have a 03 29 with the 525 and I'm runnning a 28p. With 5 or more people and a lot of fuel I switch it to the 26p. Not sure of my top speed got the boat a few months ago and waiting for my GPS antenna to come in.

My 2006 29 Fever with 525 EFI currently has a 26P B1 prop. In warm weather (when most of us run our boats) with mostly full tank of fuel, 3-4 adults and our 2 kids, we run ~ 76- 78 mph on GPS, and hit the rev limiter or rare occasion. When it cools down and lighter load, it bounces off the rev limiter more often. I would think that a 28P would be too much prop for "average" summer running for me. I think it would strain the engine too much trying to get on plane (which would be more of a struggle, too). Engine is bone stock 525 with 115 hrs on it, no mufflers.

26 pitch on a lefty drive...

I can get to 80 if I try, empty water tank with the boat aired out trimmed, tabbed, and good current.

It helps if I am trying to catch Chewspit666 so I can prove his red boat isn't any faster that my blue one.

The factory test sheet on my boat showed a 28P LH B1 prop. Boat ran 81 mph, but it was tested in December and test sheet says 38 degrees temperature. In 2005, or thereabouts, Fountain lowered the X dimension 1/2" from 19.5" back to 19". My boat has X of 19". I have test sheets from several 2003 and 2004 29's with 525's and they were all 19.5" X dimension. Most of those had either 26P or 28P B1 props and top speeds on the test sheets between 77 mph and 80 mph. Our previous 29 with 575 SCi had X at 19.5". Test sheet on the 575 boat was 83 mph with 30P RH B1 prop. We tried several props on that boat and could never get on plane with a Hydro QIV prop. No problems getting on plane with the B1 props. With the Hydro QIV props, as soon as the bow started to come over the prop lost its bite and just blew out. Tried every way we could think of to get it on plane and never could with the Hydro prop.
