Windshield problems
Just got my 27 Fever back from repair & paint . I was attempting to install a new windshield and disovered it won't fit .
Last winter I talked to Fountain about changing to a low profile windshield , as mine being a 2000' model came with a high 5pc unit . I was told that the 27 & 29's all used the same glass windshield from 2000' & up . Only change is, if an older plexiglass style was ordered , the top deck mold was different and also didn't come with built in ladder at rear .
So I found a used windsheild off of an 05' 29 Fever , and thought all was good , that is until I tried installing it . It would appear Fountain changed the top deck mould slightly as the curve on the deck don't match the curve of the windsheild . I'm wondering ... Fountain only used that 5 pcs Taylor Made High windshield on 2000 & 2001 models from what I have seen . After that , the tall ones were 4pcs design . They obviously used another deck mould for those few years that the tall 5pc was used . Too bad the guy I spoke with at Fountain wasn't aware of this , could have saved me some $$ & agrivation
So it looks like I will have a windsheild for sale soon .

Not all hope is lost. I have a spare Taylor made windshield getting ready to come off of my 2000 38' if you want to take some of the top rails and cut them down to make your own short windshield. I just cut down an '04 windshield for mine so I won't have any need for it anymore.
