Is 3.5 about neutral on yours Eddie?
It's pretty close on mine but still a little negative.
How you liking it so far?
Was the 82 GPS up with the 92 Preston had on the spedo?
Back when my 98 was new it ran 82 full of gas and 84 when low. There was very little diff between full and low when it was stock with HP500s and very littl diff later with it bored to 509s and prochargers. Gas load doesn't seem to make a lot of diff on the 47s

I had my first chance to run them Sat. and came up with great numbers for starting baseline.
Running 30" 5 blade 15-1/2" on the outside and a 15-1/4 in the middle.
Talking to Jeff at Hering he wants to have me run them with a bit more trim than I had (neutral) but Dash mount GPS and Livorsi speedo (speedo was 1-2 mph slow at times) numbers proved to be:
3500@ 52mph
4000@ 65mph,
4500@ 79mph and topped out at
5350@ 93 mph! (gps, 92 Livorsi)
Boat has triple 575sci's. These slip numbers were sooo much better than Hydromotives 31" P5X's as well as (my stock 32") 4 blade Bravo 1 which BOTH peaked around the 84-86mph range.
I have many test passes that show repeatability but will see what happens with more trim angle.
The Herings have good planing and holds the boat higher at lower RPM's.
Also has trimability to raise the bow which the P5X cant do.
Unbelivable props!

For one I am pretty sure the 575 has a higher rpm limit than a 525. Not sure about the HP and TQ curves compare on top end yet. Looking into that.
Each person added to the boat will drop rpm 50 to 75 rpm (and speed) according to Hering and shown by my own tests this is true.

I like the boat, it's so much bigger than a 42 I'm surprised about that. The 82 on GPS was with me driving this weekend and I didn't notice what the speedo was at. I'll have better numbers this weekend. Still getting use to the boat. It does ride awesome, I can play hard in rough water with it.

when you first posted that you had seen 90+ i thought that was pretty optimistic , but hey who am i to say. my Gaffrig gauge was within 1 mile per hour from my GPS that i installed years later, and on my hand held. My experience is the early stepped 47s 96-97 with 500hp or 525sc was in the mid 70's, the next generation big steps 98- early 2000's with 500's would run high 70's low 80's 1 or 2 or 3, and the later generation 2000's 04s up with 525's and big steps run in the mid to upper 80's maybe touching 90. i have heard people claim low 90's but have not seen one. i wanted a 47 for a long time but have decided that its just to big for getting in and out of the resturants at LOTO,with just me and the wife, . but i still love the looks of the 47CS comp series.

Don't give up so easy! Most of the time it's just Kathy and I on the boat too. It was sure nice starting the gen and turning the heat on last weekend

The wife and i are getting older and we just dont do the boating we use to. there was a time a few years ago that we ran the props off the boat every weekend, were at the 6 1/2 mile marker and we were up around the 31 every weekend some times twice saturday and sunday. i have had a fountain since 94 and i love them. enjoy your 47 that is one great boat, im curious how your fuel useage is compared to your 42 straight bottom with the 525sc, im guessing about the same or a little less.
