It appears much better than it was with the triple 525sc w/out steps. I'll know more after some long weekends and hard boating. The 42 didn't pass too many gas docks and it burned 92+ and I can run 87 with the 500 EFI's and that helps too.

dont forget bigger tanks take longer to move the needle so if you use to burn 1/4 tank or a 1/2 tank on a saturady and you burn about the same in the new boat 1/4 tank or 1/2 tank your problely burning more. but i would not be surprised if you do burn less. my 500hp big step boat goes 17mph faster on roughly the same fuel useage as my 365mags stright bottom i ws amazed at the fuel effiecience.

I fill the boat every time I put it in, don't like to run on the bottom half of the tank. I just never know how far I'm going and don't want to have to pay extra at a gas dock since I trailer.

Talking to Jeff at Hering he wants to have me run them with a bit more trim than I had (neutral) but Dash mount GPS and Livorsi speedo (speedo was 1-2 mph slow at times) numbers proved to be:
3500@ 52mph
4000@ 65mph,
4500@ 79mph and topped out at
5350@ 93 mph! (gps, 92 Livorsi)
Boat has triple 575sci's. These slip numbers were sooo much better than Hydromotives 31" P5X's as well as (my stock 32") 4 blade Bravo 1 which BOTH peaked around the 84-86mph range.
I have many test passes that show repeatability but will see what happens with more trim angle.
The Herings have good planing and holds the boat higher at lower RPM's.
Also has trimability to raise the bow which the P5X cant do.
Unbelivable props!
Ken

Did you run them with more trim? Any more numbers? I don't guess you can two 30" 5 blade 15-1/2" and a 15-1/4 for the middle used laying around for a triple?

Eddie,
Since the weather outside is frightful , I have not been able to run the boat in an "all around" setting. Running them in the colder air before winter I am easily hitting the limiters at 5400 rpm. So, in talking with Herring we will do more testing when it gets warm and see how much pitch I want to go up. I am guessing an easy 1/2" on all 3 to begin with. I need to run them in warmer humid air and see how much change I want to do to them.

I have a spare set but not for sale. Ya never know when you need one. (Even though I was able to get up on plane with the center and port motor playing around and still cruise at 55) Took a little more to get on plane but if I had to pull a bad prop or for drive damage I can at least run home instead of the 7mph cruise speed of my 42 with twin #6's!

take care,
Ken
Key west next year. I missed taking the boat this time but still was fun.

Hey Eddie, what's the headroom height when you step into the cabin? Never been in one but considering it for next boat. You like the backward facing seats?

I can run a tape on it tomorrow for you, but it's pretty decent. I wasn't sure about the back to backs, but they work great.
