You should also run the front safety chain from the bow eye to the winch and not wrapped around the bow stop like you have it in the picture. There is a hook connection on the bottom of the winch that is visible in one of your photos. Get a longer chain to make the connection.

Hey Guys,
Was looking at west marine site for tie down straps, they really are no different then what I use to go from hooks on trailer to boat.
Do you mean there is a type that goes "around" the trim tabs?

Tie downs are tie downs. Depending on the boat you may have to snake the tie downs around the tabs from the boat to the trailer. On my 35 I have to do just that.

Mine are just the regular tie down straps. They slip in the hinge slots of the tabs. I do have to mount them upside down so the buckle doesn't hit the tabs.
My safety straps go to hooks that welded to teh trailer frame. Not a fan of connecting saftey straps to bolt on winches or stops. I have stopped hard enough once that the boat slid forward, moving the winch stand forward till the saftery strap caught.

I know this is an old thread... But, has anyone considered replacing the cover for the anchor drain with something flush? Or, will that allow too much water to enter the locker? Any thoughts...
