Stuck on a Full
Sounds great huh? Until your stuck in the middle of the lake...My fuel gauge always reads full. Having a 27 with the 47 gallon tank can be an issue at the end of the weekend. Any thoughts on where to begin on troubleshooting?

you will find other threads on the site talking about the fuel level gauges on 27s. In my boat, if the gauge shows 1/4 full, you better be near a gas pump PDQ or you'll be stuck in the middle of the lake like you.
I'm pretty sure your boat has a 60gal tank, not 47.

My 27 had a 63 gal tank.
Both my 27 and 32 fuel gauge reads full for a long time. I don't worry about gas till it starts moving. Full to 3/4 isn't bad, 3/4 to 1/2 goes fast, 1/2 to 1/4 even faster, 1/4 to E, almost instantly! At 1/4 better have your bumpers and ropes tied on and ready to dock.

The reason I am saying 47 is because I ran it out of gas on my first outing. Got five gallons to get me to a fuel station and it topped off at 46.5 gallons. I figured it took 4.5 gallons to get me home.

Both mine have been/is a pain to fill full. If I stop at 1st splash out the vent, it still has many gals to go to be full. I listen to it while filling, then slow the rate when the tone changes.
Pain is when I stop as stations with loud overhead music playing. I also cut a hole in the side of a 20oz pop bottle and hold over the vent when it starts getting full. Catches all the splash out the vent and keeps gas off the rub rail.
