496 vs Blue is not what we are discussing. I like the 496 due to turnkey and almost being maintaince free.

A blue engine with blower is totaly out of my knowledge frame.

If I had more skills with engines I would prefer a blue engine with blower but now I just want something that goes and goes and goes.. Boating season i short here so I wanna burn money on fuel and not on parts and workshops..

Still quiet in my inbox here. No one looking to go bigger and wants out of a nice 35EX with 496s?

What's wrong with the ones in the ads here,,,, or powerboat listings etc?

Seems to be a ton of what you are looking for, shoot them a offer.

BTW

Don't forget the 502 black motors are just as reliable as 496's.

There is a ton of them listed - to fantasy prices!

Theres a 2007 for 69k would have taken that one today if I hade the cash. I only have 63k to spend right now.

And when Im that close to a 2007 it feels stupid to pay 59k for -96..... Even more stupid to pay 79k for a -98...

Im gonna be drivning in saltwater so I really want the closed cooling hat goes with 496!
Also like fuel injection!

AGREE, theres 5-6 on the classifieds here that are fantastic deals. Low hours, twin ho's, monster gauges, great paint, trailer included. All under 75k

The benefit of the 496 ho is the closed cooling over the 502 mpi. Both rock solid though. Most 502 are gonna be standard bravo 1, not that theres anything wrong with that but the ho package will more then likely be bravo x/xr.

From 2003-> Its only 496HO with Bravo X on the Ex. Seen a couple with 525/XR s well.

502mp is in pre 2003..
