Default Mechanical gauges

I have a 2000 fountain fever 32. I can not get the mechanical drive gauges to line up when in the full in position, the port side gauge will only go up to 1.5 but the starboard side hits 1 on the nose but at any other number 2,3,4,5,6 the drives line up perfectly so its not a drive issue they are even at any given number. I tried to adjust the gauge at the drive side but then the numbers do not line up properly when the drives are even. any hints on how to adjust them? the one side has been getting progressively worse over the last few years, but I am thinking there is some way to make it correct.

Loose hardware, or worn components (bushings/cables) are the only things that I can think of.
