Didn't get to run the boat yet. Developed a real strong fuel smell. Strong enough we didn't dare to run it. Pulled the fuel bladders no gas puddles just seems to be sweating thru the bladder on the bottom and sides? Just damp everywhere. So new aluminum tanks are going in.

Man, it’s always something isn’t it? These boats are a labor of love aren’t they?

Yes they are. Other than trim tabs and some gauges this will make everything in the boat new or rebuilt. I'm glad it happened now rather than the beginning of next year.

Interesting.... Just curious. Does anybody make aluminum tanks for the 42 PR? Or does it need to be fabbed for each application?

Been following this thread and your attention to detail has been outstanding. The 42 PR is so exclusive and such a great boat performance wise and looks wise, hands down my favorite boat. Seems like all of them go thru the fuel bladder blues. What was the advantage anyways over a traditional tank set-up? They do have a life expectancy date on them too correct or is it just rule of thumb to replace after X years? This boat will be dialed when your done for sure, thanks for sharing!

Not sure what the advantage is. On the ones that were in the boat they say 7 years these are 3 years old. Yup definitely a downside to the poker runs. Thanks for all your kind words.

you know yes everything will be redone but the way you want it and not a thing can go wrong that you won’t have to figure out.

You will know the boat inside out and once the normal tebuild bugs are worked out it will be a awsome boat.
Anymore I almost think that’s better.
