Default 24cs speed and prop

Anyone have any idea of approximate speed and best prop sizing for a 24cs with estimated 600hp and 650ft lbs? Boat currently has 27 4blade hydromotive and ran 76 with a mildly modified 502 mag. Rebuilt to a carbed 509 and only got to put 2hrs on it at the end of last year.

What rpm on the 27 prop, I'd think you could spin a 28 at least if not more . Post up some pics . I started a thread a couple years ago for the 24s. Hydraulic steering and tabs I assume.

I think around 5200. It should make peak power around 55 now. It's pretty easy to blow out the 27 getting on plane now. Yes to tabs, it didn't have hydraulic steering but I ordered a full hydraulic single ram kit this week, so it will. I'll try to post some pics. Unfortunately it's been a real pain since I bought it 3 years ago. My work on the boat vs. use the boat ratio is insane, but hoping I've finally got it straightened out this year.

Looks good, you might give b blades on here a call or one of the other prop guys that let you test before purchasing. You won't believe the difference hydro steering makes .

I am currently running the Stock MPI 502 Mag with a P/Charger @ 6lbs boost about 600HP - spinning a 26P LH Labbed Bravo Propeller going 80(GPS) touching the Rev limiter @ 5200 ... Tabs, no Hydro Steer.

You want hydraulic steering. My buddy has a 24cs without, we put a procharger on it, and took it to the river without hydro. It was a handful. Much safer now.

Racinfast ... apprciate the input!

Any recomendations as far a Brands of Hydro?

Also did he put a Nose Cone on it? I have heard/read many confilcting stories about them ... sounds like its trial and error as per the Style/Manufacturer boat you have ... wondering if it worked for him if he installed one?

The kit I got is the Mayfair full hydraulic single ram from Hardin Marine. I haven't installed it yet but the hardware all looks to be of good quality. Interesting that youre seeing 80 at 5200 with a labbed 26, maybe my RPM was lower. Also interestef to know about the nose cone.

It doesn't even blow the Prop out on take off ... are you running Factory Exhaust ... I have had several boats with stock exhaust(I never upgraded before) but considering upgrading this time ... have heard its good for 2-5mph? Also the nose cone might be good for 1-3mph or just slow me down! If the NC doesn't speed me up I heard its way better handling? Maybe someone on here will give us their Exhaust/Nose Cone facts.
