I am assuming I will put it in the bilge since that is where the existing one for my depth finder is. . How would I go about measuring the deadrise ?

If it was the straight V its probably 24 degrees. Deadrise on the stepped hull is 22 i believe.
But, there are two schools of thought. Some people like to put the puck farther forward, like in the cuddy. I was always told the bilge is the worst place as its behind you.

its basically the angle from keel to chine. Placement matters as if you went under step in cabin it would be a greater angle than in bilge.

If it is a step hull you have to put it in front of the step, if not as soon as you start to move and the steps starts to aerate the water it will stop working. Also don't shoot through the pad, its cored and wont work.
I am a little confused on why they are asking most transducers have adjustments so you can adjust the transducer to shoot straight down. I would look at airmar. I used this one on my 742xs Garman.
