Prop for 29 Fountain
Which prop is best for a 98 Fountain Fever 29' with a 700hp blower motor? And who has a good deal on props? I'm about to install the blower in Dec 2002. I'm currently using a 26" Bravo lab finish with the HP500 now.
Thanks for your help!

I'm running a 27 Hydro on a 27 Fever with Procharged 502 aprox 620HP. Marty at Fountain suggested a 28 Bravo which he says they are having good results with. Will's suggestion of a 28 Hydro sounds like a good choice. You need to find a prop shop who will let you try a few different sizes. Every boat is a little different.

These are surprising answers. What's your max rpm & gps speed? Powerboat Mag. did a review with the 29 Fountain with a 575SC and a 30" Bravo Prop resulting in ~83mph. Thus, I anticipated needing at least a 32 or 34" Bravo prop for 700hp.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Ralph,
First Hysro are about 2 pitches more aggressive that Bravo so a 28 hydro is close to a 30 bravo, some thing to do with measuring? Also Hysro are a little better on top end,If you are just looking topend, you may be able to spin a more aggresive prop, but what type of out drive do you have? More aggresive prop the harder to plane and strain on outdrive, plus to really get the speed you will need to be spinning (iGuess) arounf 5600 rpm,

Will, How are you liking the Ft Myers area? Did you bring the boat down yet? I guess the Channel Mark is still having Thunder Sundays, have you or anyone else on here been to it? I'll be back in Ft Myers the first week in December, still trying to get the company to let me relocate back there.

Ft Myers is OK, being 26 and single here, the selection of girls is a little limited. Now South Beach is another story, been there a couple of times and always picking up hot girls. As for me being here, I will propbably end up moving back to NC or VA, I like FL but my job is not going the way they promised. I am not being paid anywhere near what was promised, and my manager sucks. Plus I am ready to go back to school and get a MBA.

Will,
Guess you're getting the old half your pay's in sunshine routine. Your selection of women will improve in the next couple weeks with the arrival of "season". Tampa's got a lot more in the way of nightlife also.
The pay scale is lower down there but still not as bad as it was years ago. My wife used to get pissed off at the offers she got for jobs. I lucked out and landed a sales job for a national company which payed above the market and over the years turned into a regional directors job. But with that came a relocation to Richmond.

FeverMike,
I may take you up on the offer to visit Tampa, I have been there a few years ago but didn't get a chance to really enjoy it. I really like FL.
Mate228,
Your are right about the empty promises and Sunshine. I actually had a member of my "Management team" tell me "But you live in paradice" Its ashame paradice doesn't pay bills
