There is a inlet(?) fitting on the port side bottom all the way aft by the pad. It looks like the same unit as the discharge for the bilge pump. In order to see it you have to be under the boat, aft, when its on the trailer. Anybody know what it is for? The boat is a 2004 29 Fever with twins.

That makes sense...I think I will try to track where it goes. I assume it vents to the bilge with some type of one way check valve???

i believe youll find the it goes into the bilge with a loop in it i believe that it draws hot air out of the bilge along with relieving the vacuum created in the notched area
if were talking about the same through hull fitting.

I believe that if you check the hose closer you will find that it runs from the port side fitting next to the bilge thru hull to the horizontal flat at the rear of the hull. The purpose is to ventilate the prop to get the Rs up faster when planing. On my single, it just explodeds when it reaches planing speed and the air draws down there.

When did Fountain start doing this? My '99 32' doesn't have this. But then, not sure if I want a hole in the bottom of the boat relying on a hose clamp to keep things....................dry.

I too wondered what the heck that stainless through hull was for. Thought at first it might be a factory spot for a depth transducer but I know it's not.
Weird.
Another thing I noticed is that the 2003 29's have the battery & water tank mounted on the port side. My 2004 & 2 others that came in with it have the Batt & tank mounted on the starboard side. Balance I guess?
Also, off subject I was trying to shopvac out bilgewater from rain. Can you guys tell if the drainplugs are in a seperate space under the actual engine bilge area? Meaning two compartments?
Just want to make sure if I keep in the drainplugs & keep the engine bilge area dry w/a vac, there is no where water can collect in any "secret passages" while the plugs stay in.

My 2004 29 has a battery and water tank on the port side and another battery on the starboard. It is a twin and perhaps that is the reason??
