![Question](/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Has anybody replaced their windshield with the new 1/2 windshields on their late model Lightenings? I am looking at a couple of used 35 and 38 but have never liked the high windshields Fountain puts on these models. Wonder what would be the cost to put on the 1/2 size-- I think the new 1/2 size tinted looks awesome although I don't think it blocks much wind. Loking for comments?

I rode in a 35 with the low windshield and everyone in the boat was getting nailed by the wind. Way more wind in your face than a 35 Classic with the plexiglass windscreen.

i was thinking of doing the same thing as it looks sooo much better with the low one,,
i was told around 3500 for the windshield + frt..
i am not to happy to hear the wind issue though.
hmmm what to do?
i took our 02 35 out and at 80 mph just cruising around my hat was still on my head,, that was too funny,, in my old lightning it would have been in the drink before we got to 30.

I have an '04 29 Fever with the 1/2 windshield and I am afraid I must agree...looks good, feels bad! I was thinking of adding the deflectors are similar to the angled top of the plexi windshield on the classic 35 but it will look like s**t! I will most probably live with it the way it is. Good luck to ya.

Mine also has the half windshield.
Looks awesome, zero & I mean ziltch on the wind protection.
I have a full face helmet if it's real cold.![Smilie](/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I ordered it that way knowing it, but it was worth it imho.

I love the tall windshield!
I stand up when I want the wind in my face.
I went out with some friends and a storm came in. I put on the tonneau cover and was able to drive back nice and dry (with good visibility) while they were soaked and had to wear those stylish googles.
Plus we boat until the end of October when it gets very cool up here in the midwest.
Maybe if I got my wish and lived in Florida...

it is better to look good - then to feel good! If you're worried about your hairpiece, turn on the A/C and get in the cuddy with the chicks.
