What a difference they make. Pictures do not do the SS polished mirror finish justice.
Took some guesstamating to figure how far off center to place the pivot point so the flappers would open easy enough by the bilge blower, yet close when blower turned off. Those puppies open right up! Now no more water backflowing up the tubes, THRU the 'electric' blower motors and into the engine compartment. Not a single drop of water last weekend, whereas normally I drain out 1 gallon min. every weekend. Maybe I should patent these to correct a factory design flaw?

That is too cool US1.
Beats the "Nerf balls" I use...
I noticed a brand new Fountain that my dealer just got in has a different style, they are flush mounted vents w/ grates. I couldn't tell if they had backflow stops in them since the grates are hard to see through.

I doubt they would be worth the trouble to make for sale. Since this condition really is limited to the '98 or '99 (whenever Fountain went to the rear vent exits) and newer 32' Fevers only just because they sit almost water level. That alone really limits the prospective buyers. Would be a cool addition for the other models that have just the FG vent hole, but leave out the flappers since they are not needed.
Next winters project is to make another set, but with longer tubes so I can get the flappers up further out of site. This was more of a trail thing to see if they would work. McMasterCarr has highly ID polished 3" SS tubes for under $30. I used a scrap peice of poly for the flappers with SS backing and pivot rods so they would not be noisy with the metal to metal contact. So material wise, the cost is basically nothing.

WOW, thanks for the inquiry's guys. Didn't think this would be a hot item. Thought I would save some time and reply to several of the PM's I have gotten from here and the other board. I really do not have the time to make any sets until this fall when we are done boating. I spend every Fri-Sun at the lake and I do most of my gov't jobs on the weekends. I might have to give this some serious thought this fall.
Thanks again,
Jerry
