Rubrail Trim Cover
Since I can not seem to get a price from Fountain or Grand Prix (which shows the part on their website), I have decided to make my own. It is the small trim piece that covers the rubrail joint on the stern with Fountain on it. I am going to make the piece from stainless that is powdercoated and then laser engrave the logo but I need to know how long the factory part is. I would appreciate it if someone could give me the length and the distance between the screws. I will try to post a link to a pict of the part.

Re: Rubrail Trim Cover
If you are going to go thru the motions of engraving it, why not put your boat
name on it? Especially since Fountain won't even take the time to call you
back to get the replacement.
You should be able to get the piece of stainless from Taco.

Re: Rubrail Trim Cover
I got a piece of 3/4 stainless from Taco and it is a little narrower than I like so I am going to try the 1" and see how it matches. The 3/4" leaves a slight gap when mounted. If all goes well, I will make several because I will have plenty of material. I am getting ready to do a batch of white powdercoating next week and hope to include these at that time. If any one is interested, let me know. Since I have a laser engraver, it will be possible to do custom names. Before I go too far with this, I need to see how the first piece engraves over the curved surface.

Re: Rubrail Trim Cover
I was told by one dealer that I did not want to buy one because they are about $60!!!!!! I don't know if they did not want to be bothered with such a part or if that is really correct.

Re: Rubrail Trim Cover
I never got a length on the factory piece so I made these about 2.3" long. The piece of trim that I used was drilled for larger screws, so I was able to get 2 pieces 2.3" each between the existing screw holes. I will try to get a shot on the boat today or tomorrow.
