Default 38 SC Questions

Have any of you guys rode or drove a 38 SC? Just thinking about selling my 35 and stepping in to the SC. My wife and I spend lots of time on the water and thinking about letting go of some of the speed for the extra head room tv, mirco, coffee maker ect. Also the law is getting so bad with noise, They take the fun out of running at 5200. It's pretty funny to watch them try to pull a hp boat over ,If we see them first we take off and run them to the county line and they turn and go back p.o. Just like the Dukes of Hazard.

There not bad almost sporty,,,The one I drove was slow to respond and verry sensitive to wind(use a lot of tab to crorrect) but for a stay on boat pretty nice! jack of all trades master of none.. almost a cruiser and almost a performance boat ! for those who have them the like them!good in rough water as well!
we still have our 35 couldnt give the feeling up!

We have a 47SC with triple HP500s. Max speed is about 75ish. Cruise all day at 55 and crush all waves. We love the head room and the space. Speed has never been one of our issues. I just don't want to go 30mph.

I have a customer buying one w/ 525's in it. Should be a nice package.

I've got a 98, 780's with imco's, runs 87 anytime. Great in the big water. Insurance is lower than a performance boat. Loads more room than your 35. PM me if you want to know more.

Kent, Where do you run your boat out of? Have you ever been around put-in-bay?

Anybody experienced with the 38 sport fish cruiser? Its the 38SC but with the cockpit rigged for fishing.

I am torn between the two as i don't fish much- but I am thinking the resale on the sportfish with twin 496's will serve the next owner well.

Any opinions?

I have a 38 SC and love it for all the reasons you have mentioned, it has 525's on it and will run 75+ at WOT and crusise all day at 60+. The extra weight helps it handle the rough stuff as well. We stay on it for an entire weekend with our 2 dogs and it is great!

The other advantage, is that you can write off the interest on your taxes as a second home... !
