97 42 single step

my buddy is looking at a 97 single step 42 with staggered 500hps.
Any pros and cons of this set up, (especially the single step)

Here ya go Randy, i first saw this boat about 2yrs ago down at the lake. from what i understand it is the only one made and was a prototype. Reggie was experimenting with steps and placements. i believe that the boat originally went to the upper east coast New York or somewere around there. at the time that i saw it it was neglected and had the motors apart on it. and as you can tell from the pictures it is missing the windshield.

Dave, that's the boat I was looking at. Now it's in FL. Staggered 500 HP and looks clean. That's the first thing I noticed was the single step and thought it was odd. I have to assume that the boat probably doesn't handle well if Reggie never continued with that layup. Guy is asking $105k.
