UPDATE: Everone that I have spoken with agrees that Everglades City is a really cool destination for our run. We need interesting places like that where few would normally get to. I have been there many times and the Rod and Gun Club will be great for lunch.
A problem we may have is the tide. The tide charts are showing low tide that day at 12:44 PM - " lunch time".
I have gone in at low tide with no problem but there will be a section on the way in where we will have to run single file.
The backside of Marco is definately a problem at low tide so I am suggesting we run offshore out around the Cape Romano Shoal and south to Everglades City. If the tide is up enuff on the way back we can run the Marco River. Low tide at Marco is 10:18 AM and high tide at 5:36 PM.

Only at Calusa Isle Marina in Goodland which will be on our way back. That should be about 2:30 and the tide will be up enuff to get in.

Dennis, it is about 35 miles from Bonita to Marco, then 25 miles to Everglades via offshore route, then 20 miles back to Goodland. That is 80 miles for you to the fuel stop.
For those coming from the Cape and Ft Meyers it will be 100 miles. I think it is important that everyone leave with full fuel.

I have to run from Bonita to Fort Myers Beach to top off. If I do not fuel in Marco/Naples I will not make it back to FMB.

Anybody using Torco or any other fuel boost additive?

I know you can handle a boat line so all you need to do is walk (stumble) down the street. Drake is riding with me.

Dennis,

Ever have Dockside Fuel Service [ now called Quickfuel ]deliver gas to your boat on the lift? I use them all the time .
800 522 6287 or Mike at 239 549 3335. They like a few days notice to work into a schedule.

Do they pump out of drums or a tanker?

A tanker would take some long hoses.

Tanker truck with long hose. Had them string it out almost 300ft once. Maybe talk to them and see if they can reach your lift. Very convenient and less $ than at a marina.

Also just got a call from our friend Larry Jones. He is going to join us for the fun run in Maquerade.
