JUSTONCE,
If your ever at Put-in-Bay I'll be the guy with the old Baja boat with shinny new looking seats.
THanks for the info on the Magic Erasers. Do you have anything that will make my boat look new too other than $$$.

[QUOTE=mneal]You clean your fenders? :-)
Yep! They get black scruff marks from some docks and yuk from the gas dock piers. Mr. Cig (hubby) is quite the task master!!!

I was going to start a new thread about Magic erasers, but did a quick search 1st and just figured I'd send this thread back to the top.
These things are the Holy Grail of cleaning! They got stuff out of my vinyl that was impossible to remove using every cleaner known to mankind. I tried stuff that you need to use rubber gloves with, and the Magic erasers did even a better job than that.
Wonder how they work? They just seem to "drag" the dirt and stains right out of anything. Even our dining room table that someone spilled blue ink on years ago came clean.
Simply amazing!!!

Okay, I'm sold on trying the erasers for the end of summer deep clean coming up. Now tell us a few places known to sell them. The Food Lion around the corner definitely doesn't have any on their shelves.

I started using magic erasers last summer , I thought I had the interior looking awesome but after trying it in a small spot it looked like it had been sprayed white .. Needless to say , I went to Krogers and bought about 9 boxes just in case they quit making them ....

One moire vote for MAGIC Erasers !!! THey really are MAGIC. You gotta try 'em to appreicate.
I've also put WEsley's BleachWhite Tire Cleaner in same category--but be carfeul on vinyl--it will damage thread and take the "finish" off the vinyl. After all look what it will do to clean a tire.

I'm a Magic eraser guy too. I did the whole boat with 3m cleaner then did a spot with the eraser, it left a clean spot so noticeable I had no choice but to redo the whole boat.

I used some stuff called "roll off". or was it roll on...
anyway, it worked great with a little scrubbing. The boat had a lot of ground in dirt and grease from the previous owner, then more from the engine rebuild. That stuff took it all off pretty quick. test on an inconspicuous spot first. I noticed a little fading on the blue vinyl on my boat after use, but i honestly can't say if it was like that before or not (too dirty).
