there are some marine engineering students at school using air cylinders from grainger...about $30.00 and for valves the home depot sprinkler electric valves are supposidley approved for 150psi air $13.00 and the tank and compressor just any 12v system.... they are building their stuff for a wave tank and it all stays under water...

THAT's why the cylinders from McMaster-Carr caught my eye.
As far as the compressor goes, I'd want something that would stand up to saltwater exposure. Although, I suppose I could alway powder-coat/paint/plate/pinstripe any old unit....

C-Spray, I bought my compressor used. I ran a "wanted" ad right here on OSO, and bought it for $75. Works great! There's quite a few of them out there.

You could buy my complete Gafrig set-up...Stainless steelCylinders just rebuilt.Mufflers just polished Gafrig pump....All fittings & hoses {new}....500...2 pair....4.5 inch with stainless bushings to also fit 4"
