I've actually got two 20 footers. A 1981 Formula 20F SC, and a Donzi Minx. I repowered the F20 with a 330 horse sbc. I never did run it enough to get a speed on it before I bought a 242. Then I decided to redo the 20, that was about three years ago, and I was just out in the garage working on it now.
The Donzi I never ran long enough to get a speed either. It's in a shop getting new engine. It is supposed to be ready next week.

I don't know if this will work, but here's a video of my Minx the first time I splashed it. I didn't run it up past 3500 rpm that day.

I was going to do the same thing in my 19'(320 propshaft hp). But I am wondering if I should go big block. I am just worried it may throw the balance of the boat off with that much more weight at the stern.
Decisions, decisions!!!

I'm familiar with them. A Donzi clone from what I gather. I saw one at the Toys for Tots run in November at Lake Harris in Florida.

There are actually a lot of differences in the hull and deck. Not very many were produced. I have been around them since 1995. I know them inside and out. I just don't know if they can handle a big block!

Sometimes good things come in small packages! Mine is an '88 Baja Sunsport 196 with a SBC and Alpha SS. Best speed to date is 79.4 naturally and 84 on nitrous.
