Hey guys, the law is 88 db my boat at idle was 96.7 db they tested it a few times. Storm the ggb mufflers are replacement tips you take the old tips out of the transom and replace with ggb's. They are around 900 bucks but are proven to not lose any HP up to 600 horse.. Hope that helps ,Anthony...

It makes a set of GGB Extremes at $850 sound cheap. Specially if you add in the couple of cocktails you're sure to have had before you get stopped

Anyone who needs them, I've got them at a great price!

Lofty, w/ the standard length tails i have clearance problems w/ my external steering. I cut 1.5" off my tails this yr so i could raise my drive all the way. What are the dimensions of the GGBs?

Because we live in a blue state...but I still have it on my boat. The dep girl at our marina wouldn't know switchable exhaust from the hole in her ass.

I've spoken to a couple DEP officers on the river and they said they really weren't on the lookout for switchable but WERE on the lookout for noise. Basically they told me to "be as quiet as I could be" on the river and they won't bother me. When I got hit last year in Essex I was 91 and change at idle. I was really cool with the guy when he pulled me over so he let me go with no ticket.

Hey Bmanafort, do you know the name of the restaurant in essex that is a block up on the right from the marina there on the right side? Its a small seafood/steak place. We ate there once last summer and would like to go again. Is there anywhere better than that place within walking distance from the marina?

switchable exhausts were illegal in ct until june 2 of this year.i've worked with law makers since the cutout law was instituted back in 88. the way the law was written was it was like it was a car, guys were modifying stock exhaust systems to make them louder. it took awhile to demonstrate that this was not the case. the passing of this law was unprecedented, the first to my knowledge in the u.s. there were many people involved so lets not blow this - if you have silent choice or any switchables lets use them please. if you have questions you can call me at ocean performance and ask for chris thanks.

Wow...this really blows. Are we the first coastal area that has this type of restriction now? I can understand lake restrictions, but the coast??
