Agreed, but Imco is offering a 1 year warranty with the Ilmor motors to match Teague. Do you think Merc would warranty a drive on another manufactuers 625 hp motor?

Probably not , depends on what caused the failure. I guess it would pay to have a friend at Mercruiser in that case.

Who has blown up Bravo's and runs Imco's? Me and alot more already chiming in. Who has blown up Imco's and run Bravo's? If you blow up Imco's you go to number #6's and a different boat. Which of you Bravo lovers is going to trade me some Imco's for my Bravo's. I've had them for a couple of months now and can't seem to get rid of them!

That's a combination that you don't want to run a regular Bravo 1 with. In your case, Imco is a better drive than a Bravo 1, period........ Yes there are some drives stronger than an Imco on the market but you aren't shopping for a drive, your asking if the Imco is an upgrade and the answer is yes it is.

Geesh, Who the heck would be dumb enough to match a 700 h.p motor with a standard Bravo One(RATED FOR 470 H.P)? If everybody is going to bash Bravo's at least make sure they are matched correctly to the h.p. your running?? I think a better question to ask is who would service an IMCO drive? As everybody knows, there are thousands of mercruiser repair centers nation wide. In my location I don't no anybody that would put a wrench to an IMCO. Im sure IMCO's are great drives, but the fact remains that you could destroy a drive no matter what you have. I would rather have the unit that I could get the parts for faster and cheaper. just my .02

A 1075sc is desirable also but if you don't have the $$$$ to rebuild them every 50 hrs. they kind of lose that desirable characteristic.

You can get parts from Imco or one of their authorized dealers such as www.TPMarine.com. Anybody that can rebuild a Bravo should be able to rebuild an Imco with Imco parts, they are similar inside just with heavier duty parts.
