Hydraulic steering cylinder question
I recently had a hydraulic steering cylinder rebuilt for my Cig TG.
Has anybody ever had one rebuilt?
Approximate cost?
What does a new one cost?

Re: Hydraulic steering cylinder question
I wouldn't think it would be a huge investment as there aren't a lot of parts to replace, assuming the cylinder barrel and the rod are usable. I've never done a steering cylinder but I've done plenty of hydraulic cylinders over the years, mostly on vintage aircraft.
Was it bypassing internally or leaking to the outside?

Re: Hydraulic steering cylinder question
interesting question, my nephew needs to have a steering cylinder rebuilt on a Mercury outboard. Does anyone know who does this in So. Fla?

I bent my steering ram a few weeks back.
Marine Machine had it back to me in 2 days, and im in NY.
Cost: $250. New piston and rebuild.
I think just a rebuild is 100-150.
