Sounds interesting. I wish I was able to demo a Imco lower. You think they would do a demo program like prop shops do.

Not trying to jack your thread but was there a reason for
switching from Lh to Rh rotation. or was there a reason ?

The reason is because at low speeds a narrow boat with a big engine will torque to the opposite side of prop rotation. If the engine rotates in the opposite way it helps offset this effect. Some said to try a lefty but i found on my boat it doesn't matter which way I spin a prop.
Once I get up to 50mph or more I don't feel any effect from this. I also found that the depth of the prop makes a difference. I can use the trim to balance the boat at low speeds also. Of course trim tabs are made for this but I prefer not to use them.

See my signature. Single, true 30' Superboat, 4800#'s dry, 801HP @ 6000rpm. Which I have not propped it to run 6000rpm. yet. Leaning towards a labbed Bravo1.

You mentioned depth of the prop. What is your X-dimension? My boat was purchased as a bare hull and rigged elswhere. My X-dim is 1.5" higher than the factory. Thanks

I don't have the boat at home now, but I think it's 3.5" below.

37 Ourtlimits, With 4 blades I had so much blade area in the water that once the props would start lifting the nose higher until the boat would push back against the props and they would slip, or the boat would porpoise, 27 three blades came with the boat and have tried both 4 and 5 blade with the same effect. I ended up with 29 mirage plus. Boat is now twins pulled the third motor and drive. Also there was certain speeds the boat didn't want to be, Between like 70 or 80

faster,

Everything I have read about the nose cones or actually sportmaster lowers say 90mph is the switching point. at speeds below 90 don't use the sportmaster lower will lose speed. above 90 mph the sportmaster lower is suppose to be 2-3 mph faster.
