Key West with boat - Yes or no?
I was planning on dragging the boat to KW for the worlds. I am wondering about the trip down since Wilma. How hard is it to get through south FL by road? Will gas be scarce? (A $20 limit will make the trip impossible.) Lodging on the way down a problem? Also, what about fuel in the Keys?

The trip should be fine. Fuel should be OK. I am in Key Largo and the roads have no damage. We drove to Key West last Thursday.( lots of sail boats on side of road ) Fantasy Fest was fun. Fuel in the Keys is normal. I was here for Wilma, for a few days after fuel was hard to get but now its not a problem. Your trip should be fine!

Electric power is hit or miss around Ft. Lauderdale/Miami so gas is tight right now. It is getting better everyday they will have power to everyone by the 22nd. Gas is not a problem in the Keys, maybe going thru central Florida to the Keys could be. Should be OK in about a week to week and 1/2.

One thing that unsure of is the docks in Key West?? Should call first. 80% of the people in Key West lost cars due to storm surge. I fly out Wednesday, if I find out anything different I will post it.
