If that's what you want to do....buy my boat!! No b.s. stuff to break, just go fast and look good!

I came back from Key West in 2003 on the Poker Run in a square wave headsea of fours and fives. Many boats got beat up badly. Bajas in particular. <gg> Beat the hell out my Sonic 30SS, spilt a fuel tank open and broke off a hatch lifter..........both NON SONIC items I installed. Learned my lesson and ripped out the other "custom, extra tough fuel tank" and put Sonic Tanks back in. No problems since.

The wife and I love our boat, it has gotten us through some really bad storms at sea. Twelve foot breaking waves was the worst, and I did not think we were going to survive, but did. It is a 1988 boat, with NO hull squeaks or rattles, despite the abuse we have given it. Can't praise it highly enough.

If you hammer the older boats, you will get some stress cracks around the inside cabin door, they all do. But, as per Jay Ross, you can't fix them and they are not a structural problem.

Oh yeah, the cabin is so comfortable, the wife and wife cruise and live in it for ten plus days at a time. Cruised it to Nantucket when you REALLY want to have a good boat under you, all over the south east coast of florida and the Keys.

Yeah, coming back from Nantucket in a 3 to 5 foot headsea again (why, is it always a headsea?? <gg> ) broke the wiring harness. Lost the ability use the tabs, luckily they stuck in the #5 position down mode.

Once again, not Sonic's fault, the goof private guy I had redo the guage panel NEVER SUPPORTED the main wiring harness in any way. It just pounded down without any support, finally breaking the wires controling the trim tabs. What an idiot.

After a certain amount of storms at sea, 58 Hatteras yachtfisherman start to look really attractive as the next step up boat. <gg>

AC, where you at in PA???

As for Sonic never having a hull crack. Their warranty is for original owner only, thus any cracks reported by 2nd, 3rd.. etc owners doesn't count in there stats... They can crack like any other boat...... I just spoke with Bruce at Sonic to discuss this issue.... I'm the 2nd owner, so it's not their issue.

Sonic is a GREAT boat!!!! For the big seas, I would recommend going a little bigger though as stated above....

Good luck!
