I agree about a fun/poker run. I want to do it but don't know enough about the ins and outs to produce it. But I am willing to learn!
Everyone pick a date this summer and we will just have a run and forget the entry fees

We have a small poker run every year for the past 3-4 yrs, Here's how we do, we leave from our dock and go to 7-8 predetermined public docks on the lake, when you get to that dock you take a digital picture or get a ticket for gas or something to show you were there. The more docks you go to the better your chances, so if you make all 8 docks you can keep the best 5 cards. The cards are all dealt back at the dock when everyone checks in. WE usually charge 10 per hand and you can buy as many as you want. We had a pot of 800 this last July and paid 2nd place also. It's a way to do it without permits and all that stuff. Then after the card draw you get drunk. By the way one yr. we went well over 80 miles so you can make it as long as you like.

Ok, last week in July. I like the simplicity of rdp145's deal. Especially the getting drunk afterwards idea.
Make it happen!

There are tons of places to stay. It really depends where you want to stay. The area around Kimberling City and east to the dam will be the most modern, on the water type places. The Shell Knob area where I am at is more laid back. I prefer the Timbers when I have more people than I can house we send them to the Timbers. Way cool place that rents log cabins that sleep from 2 to 12 or more. Almost everyone has slips to rent.
