The responses on the other thread were uncalled for here on OSO, hence I deleted my own thread. Please don't confuse me with OSO Management/Steve.

Let's see...Insurance companies, sailboaters (how close was Leviathan's flyby on the vid of the sailboat, 40'? Were they part of the film crew, or just someone who got in the way of a responsible controlled situation ), waterfront land owners who want to restrict speeds and access, etc, etc. That kind of stuff affects us.

GOOD POINTS ....... and yes all that stuff affects us, insurance rates, speed limits, no wake zone areas, noise restrictions and so on. If the video was filmed for movie purposes, they should put that info at the start and end of the tape. EVERY YEAR people complain here on OSO about INSURANCE RATES, BEING DROPPED by INSURANCE CARRIERS, SPEED and NOISE RESTRICTIONS and so on ......... HMMMM gee I wonder why that is VIDEOS LIKE THESE BEING PUBLISHED ON THE NET FOR THE WORLD TO SEE......BTW that does include local authorities and townships, blue hairs, manatee fans, Coast Guard and YES underwriters. This is all eroding the FUN FACTOR out of the sport we love. We need to show the positives NOT the negatives of the sport

On the thread that got ditched, I said summat about 1 rule for one, and another rule for the other. sighting 200mph pleasure boats as extremely dangerous, but OK in your eyes coz they're cool.
Me, passing our camera boat 6 feet away at 71mph, is clearly dangerous and unacceptable to you lot, but in a thread posted tonight on OSO, there's talk of a 46 Skater that runs 223mph! lets say he regularly goes boating with 4 or 5 people on board. Are you seriously telling me that the life of those occupants isn't at a higher risk than the people in the making of my video?
utter tosh!
it's OK to do 223mph coz it's cool, and you'd all like to!
Any insurance person who saw that boat pass, however far away it was, wouldn't EVER want to insure the occupants lives, would you?
so get off my case.
It wasn't even me who posted the video on your site!
BTW anyone who wants to see some vids, check out www.boatmad.com and go to 'multimedia' (or the forum)

Hi 'JS232', thanks for the interest.
It's a British built 'Phantom'. the builder retired in 2000 after a 31 year spell at building small-ish sports & race boats, the bigest being a one-off 31 footer.
My 28 runs 71mph with the diesels, driving through Bravo 1's
You can see the build and a few pics
