Anyway, I would urge you to look at a few of the Checkmate Convincors on yachtworld.com, there is a 97 with a pretty nice set up that runs 80+ clean looking boat, low hours I think 5 on each engine, and asking 35,900, There are also a few twin engine 303's. The boats are newer low hours clean, and less than what you want to pay. That 29 fountain single link that was brought up earlier is a nice looking boat as well. If you go for a bigger boat, make sure you pick one that the owner did a basic restoration on, I'm spending lots of $$ putting mine into decent shape, If I could go back, Id definitely buy one from this site, many great deals on larger boats. The cost is in the maintenance, and restoration, not the original price tag. Check out that 35 mistress on ebay 30k buy it now with blower motors? If thats real, it looks very close to what you were looking for before. And a few of the larger boats in the swap shop look good, 357 formula for 29k, leaves some $$ to play with.
Thanks! (I think )

No, I did not buy the 38-foot Flatdeck. Just too heavy to tow.

While I would love to have a 35-foot "wave crusher", I would have to keep it in a wet slip. Slips on Travis are very expensive. Dry stack is also available for a 29-footer or shorter. I plan to go to the Austin Boat Show next week and do some "slip shopping".

Let's put it this way... If I budget $800/month on boat payments and storage, do I want to spend $400/month on a boat payment and $400/month on storage (wet slip)? Or should I spend $600/month on the boat payment and $200/month on storage (dry stack)? Or. something else?

If I am willing to trailer the boat, then I can spend $600 on the payment and $100 on storage and put the other $100 in my pocket!

It's all about options...

400 on storage is nuts
If you have to spend 800 a month spend it on the boat and keep it in your drive way.

$400/month for a wet slips is about average on Lake Travis. Dry stack is about half that.

I can't keep the boat in my driveway.

Sorry for the picture quality. Most are pictures of the plug, the mold has already been pulled. And the first boat is done and ready to be shown at the Toronto boat show.

Wet slips suck on travis. Ive been quote between 450-550 for a 36' boat, THEN you need a lift another 6-8k, THEN you have to buy lake gas.

Im looking for covered storage in austin for a total length of 43' with no luck

There is a ton of 40' and under though.

I wish i could dry stack mine.

Try Hudson Bend Boat Storage. They are a storage place on the road to Carlos'N Charlie's. They have 26x11 and 52x11 stalls..

I kept my 22-foot Crownline in a 26x11 covered storage for $85/month. They also have uncovered storage.

Nice folks. Two sisters run it. Their brother also lives there.
