the view from the third story window of a freinds house looking over the marsh between lake ponchartrain and chef pass/bayou savage...he made out well considering all the damage around , the home was built to withstand high winds ...

Sorry to hear that Eric, day by day.

Rob, Lakeshore, Waveland, Bay St louis, devastated. We have a pic sent to us showing an approx 30' plus surge wall of water before it hit St Stanislau, and the Top of I-10 bridge over 603 where water is over the buildings and motel on the right as the surge was going out. Diamondhead Soth side, completely gone, havent even started to clean it up. All the back bay and rivers swelled, water came over the I-10 system and Filled up Diamondhead which is the highest point from Texas to Florida. So many people lost their lives feeling they were protected,( especially the elderly) living here cause of the elevation. We are fortunate, and are thankful to have our lives. I take nothing for granted anymore. Jeff
