There is a very high probability that you cant buy the most outstanding race boats if you post in the public where you found them. Some of you found out already as they emailed to HORBA and didnt post. If there are buyers in Seattle one might consider that as the beginning of the next exhibition/museum for fast vehicles like the museum for historical "heritage" aircrafts.
The next job for HORBA might be to find a solution not only for the race boats in listing and reminding to restore them but also a reminder to take care for the memorabilia as the now privatly owned collections might become interesting for a museum for offshore racing and should become public for all tasks of research. Probably your collections will be available one day in study rooms in that museum.

Ratman.....bring on those photos of your saving of the old Michelob Light.
That boat should be in Tampa by now...get posting!!
Here is your baby when it was known as the "Beer Wagon".
And remember Ratman....if you get a sponsor, take the relationship very seriously, like Jack on the left and Joey on the right used to do...promote that brand in the best light at all times.

Sincerely I don't understand the reasons to have two identical boats to race only the APBA. Ok the only one can be in the new Kevlar 49 construction....
The former Whittaker Moppie of Sammy James was sold to Aoki in 1976 and it remain red, then in 1977 was painted in Yellow and in 1978 season was white with red to yellow stripes.
I think it was the same 38'.
But I can take a mistake....

Bacardi 1977

Guy Lombardo 1978 (Aoki was in the Cougar 38' and Gary Lanier in the Bertram)

Aoki then send the Bertram in Japan where he run some races and then lend it to another Japanese driver in the early eighties.
