Who went to the Toronto Boat Show?
Is there much in the way of go-fasts there? Is it worth a 3.5 hour drive? Thinking about driving up on Saturday.
Thanks,
James

Went there this weekend.
It was OK. Not much in the way of go-fast's, but enough to justify my drive up from Detroit.
Fountain had a few 25-29' single boats. There might have been one boat with twins, but I don't remember. Most everything was single drive. There was a 37' Outlimits with big blower motors and no.6 drives. Not sure if it was the owner or just the marina rep, but nobody could get closer than 10 feet before the guy would ask the person to "step off!" A bunch of 20-something Donzi's but nothing with twins. A nice 33 Scarab was there with HP's. Velocity had a 26' and a nice 39' with 496's.
Mercury had a really cool display with a bunch of their engine and drives on display. Of course, the sticker-shock (after talking to a rep) is that much more surreal when quoted in Canadian dollars.
If you've got nothing else at all planned, I say go for it. It's not great, but it's a fix!

P.S. I'm hoping to have pictures on my site by this afternoon.

I went last weekend and saw Reggie himself at the Fountain Display. Other than that it was pretty much a let down as far as go-fasts are concerned. The Velocity display was in the back corner and not very impressive. Donzi didn't have very many boats displayed. So if you have nothing better to do then go.
By the way, I'm going back tomorrow for another looksie...
No matter how lame it is.... There's nothing like boats in the middle of winter

Thanks Bayley. Good pics. Now I won't miss the show!
My favourite caption:
"I asked the sales rep how big the pad was on the bottom of the hull. He responded by saying that all Velocity's come from the factory with equal amount of padding in the seats."
Nicely done! hehe
Why don't you come to the OSO gathering on the 26th?
