Speed and noise limits on Virginia lakes
I read an article this weekend in a lake Anna paper, stating associations around Virginia lakes are trying to put noise and speed restrictions on Va lakes. Although the people I talked to don't think it will totally pass they think some of the parts will pas, such as 25 mph limit at night. They are also proposing a 55 mph limit during daylight hours . If we as a group don't get together they will soon be telling us what color of bathing suit to wear. We need to act as a group to stop this. I am told that (Smith Mountain Lake Power Boaters Assoc.) SMLPBA has a site and a link showing that less than 3 percent of boating accidents are caused by speed

Yea Rich we are coming to the chill out . I talked to Brian about this last night and tried to call you but your recording said not to leave a message I guess I need your new number. Brian was going to talk to the President of smlpba to see if a petition could be drawn up for all at the chill out to sign.

If there is some type of petition, next weekend would be an excellent time to get signatures. It's rare that a lot of power boaters get together at one event...

I got a warning last 4th of July on Lake Anna. And was told that I could not launch the next day or I would get a ticket. Unfortunately there was a boat that capsized that weekend after the fireworks.

I am pretty sure VA law does not require mufflers, you just have to have "Baffels" on your exhaust, these equate to the rubber flaps that hang off. But if you were running dry exhaust you are asking for it.
