Larry Peto is your man in that area. Peto 580 @ 675 HP in NA or EFI, bulletproof.

Lysholm was building superchargers for Whipple....that's true. Lysholm doesn't own Whipple, The Whipple family owns Whipple. Since Merc starting using Lysholm, (I don't know if they bought Lysholm or not) Whipple starting using another manufacturer to produce their superchargers.

Larry Peto has a very good reputation on the West Coast. He built the motors for "Predator" a 40' Skater that dominates the Poker Runs around here.

Although he doesn't have the "Teague" or "Pfaff" name, his products are premium.

I think another reason merc is pushing superchargers is they are using "electronic boost management" to keep engine output at its rating. Everything I been reading shows their sc motors are supposed to put out what they are rated for under any temperature or air density by controlling how much boost is bled off.It also means (for the few people able to afford these motors) they are underated and can be turned up to higher power levels,Smitty

Simple, why would they build something that competes with their much more expensive 600, 700, 850 SCI? Its also much much easier to duplicate a NA motor via the "aftermarket" for a fraction of what Merc would try to charge.....not much more too it than that
