Good to know about the helmets in the rain, that is a good idea for me also. 25 - 27'ers . . . hmmmmm.
Lotsa choices, but in that range - I would look at Fountain 38 Lightning. They perform pretty well in bluewater, considering their diminutive size. . . .
Good-lookin boat; and FAST.
May be a little small for your req's, and somewhat out of your immediate price range - but well worth a look.
