Re: 24' Fountain - can anyone tell me about them
Back in high school an old buddy was saying how he saw one at a marina he worked at with twin 502's in it, with the swim platform submerged because of the weight...I didn't believe him then (and still don't). But I remember them having a ballast system as well, wasn't too sure how it worked. But again, the beak factor still makes it a small boat!

Just because it's a 22* deadrise and a sit down boat doesn't mean it won't do well in some decent sized chop.
It's a nice looking boat!

I owned a 1994 with a 502 MPI and a Bravo One for 3 years. Great lake boat!!! Super Fun. Wish I still had mine for tooling around. Sit down boat and real quick and fast. mine went 79.8 GPS with a labbed 25 three blade. I drove it hard and fast and never had one issue with drive or motor. It IS a single stepped hull. I used it on an inland lake in TN with a max of 2 footers and one time on Lake Ontario. It is NOT a good Great Lake boat but the ballast tank makes a HUGE difference when running in rougher water. You will have a blast with it. The accelleration is awesome for a 502.

The transom does sit very low in these. Pretty cool little boats though. I think a member has one on Lake George in NY. I forget who though.....
