The one I looked at yesterday was "IDLE TIME." it is on boat trader ... an 01 with the 6.2 mercs. http://www.boattraderonline.com/cadd...5/82940145.htm
I am looking at another on Saturday (a '00 with 350 MAGs) http://www.boattraderonline.com/adde....html?82782510
...and I just e-mailed the guy with the one you posted. Hopefully I'll be able to combine 3 hour drives and kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
I posted about the problem with "IDLE TIME" over on donzi.net and got a response that the boat most likely has a factory f-up steering issue from a former donzi test driver. http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44375 If that's the case though I can't believe the current owner dealt with it for 200 hours without having it fixed.
The plot thickens and the search continues....

good luck....they are out there. I'm in central VA if you find anything worth looking at.
BTW: I have bought a number of boats long distance (FT Lauderdale, Cleveland, Long Island, Charleston SC.) As you said, get a good surveyor and mechanic. I always got recommendations from BOATUS)

If anyone was following this thread it continues over here: http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...d.php?t=127027
Problem with the other boat was def. the steering, the Donzi's with full hydraulic are nothing like the one I drove last week.
